Exploring Cumberland Lodge……

Cumberland Lodge empowers people to tackle the causes and effects of social division, Since 1947, they have been breaking down silo thinking and building networks with the power to make a difference. Its founder Amy Buller, the pioneering author of Darkness over Germany, envisioned a place where people would ‘examine the fundamental assumptions’ behind complex challenges facing society, and that remains at the heart of what they do. Find out more about our distinctive method and ethos here.

The Lodge convenes multi-sector conferences, seminars and panel debates that engage people of all ages, backgrounds and perspectives in candid conversations, on issues that affect us all. By hiring our rooms and facilities you will be actively supporting our work as a charity.

The stunning facilities at Cumberland Lodge are available to hire throughout the year, for a wide range of residential and non-residential events. We offer the ideal setting for conferences, meetings, retreats, away-days, professional development courses, and special events including weddings and receptions. We combine the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of an English country house, and ample space for reflection, with all the facilities you need in a modern conference centre. Hosting conferences and meetings has always been at the heart of what we do, and we offer a range of flexible spaces spread across three historic buildings, including large conference rooms with linked breakout rooms, elegant reception rooms, private meeting spaces, and an open-air woodland seminar space.
