Royal Holloway staff and students volunteer to help the community in Coronavirus crisis

Royal Holloway Volunteering is working in collaboration with Voluntary Support North Surrey, who are assisting Runnymede, Spelthorne and Surrey Heath Borough Councils to coordinate the community support response by Surrey County Council. There are 3 aims; to help those in need, to direct those who want to help, and to keep people connected with relevant information.

Covid-19 Telephone Befriender

We are providing telephone support to people who are self-isolating, offering both a listening ear and social contact on a regular basis. Our pool of volunteers are offering telephone support and friendship with people in the community to provide company, support and to check on their wellbeing.

Foodbank

Royal Holloway staff and students are also donating to Runnymede Foodbank who are setting up a new distirbution centre to support people struggling at this difficult time. They are also helping with deliveries for those who can’t leave the house.
