Great British Food Festival comes to Englefield House

The Great British Food Festival is coming to Englefield House on Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th 2019 with a weekend extravaganza of food, drink and fun for all the family.

Now in its eighth year, the Festival team has, for the first time, chosen the stunning grounds of Englefield House as a venue for this acclaimed event.

As well as a wide selection of delicious food and drink, there will be live music and entertainment including children’s activities, inflatables and workshops.

Peter Carson, House and Events Manager for the Englefield Estate, said: “The Great British Food Festival has established itself as a fantastic event for all ages, with a perfect recipe of chef demonstrations, live entertainment, crafts and stalls to browse, including plenty of local suppliers and businesses.

“Our wider Estate grounds, with Deer Park, woodlands and lake, provide a stunning location for any outdoor event. Our experienced team treat every event as unique and pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards of service. We are looking forward to bringing the Great British Food Festival to Berkshire.”

Highlights at the Festival will include Great British Bake Off stars Howard Middleton and Briony May on the bake off stage, a cookery demonstration from Tom Clarke, head chef at Michelin-starred L’Ortolan restaurant on Saturday, and Chef Patron of The Miller of Mansfield, Nick Galer on Sunday.

Budding home bakers can enter the Festival’s very own ‘Cake Off’ and attendees can also sample and buy produce from local and national suppliers in the artisan market, including some homemade products which you won’t find on the shelves of the local supermarket.

For the more competitive, there will be a host of competitions taking place on the challenge stage throughout the day. The Man (or woman) vs Food challenges always draw a crowd and 2019’s competitions also include a ‘Gin Off’ and a ‘Rum Off’.

In addition to all the foodie delights, the Festival’s ever-popular craft tent will be packed full with local traders with all kinds of gifts and crafts, from cards to soft toys, soaps to confectionery.
