De Vere Wokefield Estate, in Reading, has unveiled the results of its £20 million refurbishment project, which includes a complete renovation of its historic Mansion House. The works include the full refurbishment of the Mansion House’s 87 luxury guestrooms and suites, and all of its event spaces to create a hotel that marries 21st-century style and comfort with stunning original Victorian features.
The Mansion House’s largest event space, The Terrace Suite, has been tastefully reimagined and features an extensive balcony overlooking the grounds and lake, providing a scenic break-out area. The Lincoln Suite – an old chapel; The Old Lounge with its magnificent fireplace, and Mortimer, with stunning views of the hotel’s manicured gardens, have also been completely refurbished and offer delegates the utmost flexibility.
Opening in September and located in the Mansion House, the new 90 cover 1560 Restaurant & Bar will serve a British-inspired menu alongside a range of craft beers. A new Whiskey Lounge has also been opened for those looking to unwind pre- or post-dinner.
